May seem expensive compared to your common or Wilko 3-99 affair but this is a HUGE feeder with METAL fittings. I have the medium size and am a bit concerned that if I filled it with 1.5L of seed, the feed would go mouldy before being eaten. It is designed to be dismantled for cleaning. The base is removable by twisting off like a bayonet cap lightbulb. And the holes with perch can be unclipped from the tube. Apart from my concerns with the seed not being eaten quick enough, I think the plastic tube is comparatively flimsy compared to the removable accessories. The plastic will surely be the first thing to fail, especially after a few removals of the metal fittings. I suspect that in time the perches would not be held so firmly in place either. The long guarantee is reassuring but a stronger plastic tube with reinforcement around the cutout slits might offer even more peace of mind. Despite my concerns, I still award 4 stars as it is very easy to clean when disassembled by shoving a bottle brush up it or forcing a sponge through it. And the metal parts can't be gnawed by squirrels.

I'm very impressed with this bird feeder! Considering I got the 'small', it's a really great size, much bigger than I thought it would be. It also has good weight to it, it's not flimsy at all. Everything is chunky and well made, and I think it looks great! I really like how the bottom can twist off so it's easy to clean, as you usually get a bit of compacted/wet bird seed at the base, so this is perfect. I do think it's a bit pricey, especially as you don't get a bag of seed included, but it is really high quality, and should hopefully last for years to come!

Brilliant size for the medium version, it’s bigger than all my other feeders. Solidly made and easy to take apart for cleaning which with the prevalence of bird flu these days is really important to be able to properly keep it clean to keep all my feathered visitors healthy. The birds in my garden are happily working their way through the seed I filled it with so it gets a thumbs up from the birds.

This is no doubt the best quality bird feeder I have ever used. The base twists off and the perches unclip for easy cleaning. The base and perches are metal so will be more resistant to squirrels and should last longer than plastic but the tube is still Perspex. I ordered the large with 6 feeding ports, it’s huge and can hold lots of seed. Maybe too much actually as the seed may rot if not eaten quickly. Maybe a smaller one for most gardens is more suitable. Overall very good quality with a 5 year guarantee but the price is pretty high!!
